Parenting Issues

Greetings and Blessings to you all and your families in Jesus Name.

I am a practicing Christian, a mum, a nurse and a Sunday School teacher. From the Word of God, my experiences and reflections in all those areas of work, I have observed that speaking into the lives of children, declaring and decreeing prosperity (success) in their spiritual and physical lives, and teaching them to do it for themselves and others is pleasing to our Almighty God and is a good life skill practice for them in turning their generation.

Speaking God's protection over our kids, helping them to do their part, e.g, tell them they need to watch out for their safety, not just praying God protect me, they need to do their homework, not just thinking I will pray and not study.

As a parent or guardian, we could practice loving alongside disciplining our kids as on it's own it would be unbalanced, e.g, one time my daughter was inappropriate in her response to me when I firmly told her about something she did. I told her to go to her room and think about what she did and will talk about it fairly and reasonably, later.

I am mindful of keeping forgiveness, mercy, and understanding of the age group in mind. Telling our kids we love them no matter what, does not mean we allow behavior that is displeasing to God to persist. To me it means that just as I know that God loves me, and forgives me when I sin whether in thought, word or deed, He expects us to do the same for each other, that includes our kids. Blessing our kids regularly, as they come and go, speaking into their lives even when we get upset with them, (hard, I know), will always be pleasing to God, because he spoke about the power of the tongue where we can speak good or bad things into the lives of each other, we can speak to our kids about being naughty, we can reasonably and fairly disciple them, but never do it without helping them to understand that God disciplines everyone as recorded in His Word, to help us be better.

God Bless you as you parent the next generation. I declare and decree that you will pray for the wisdom of God to care for your kids and that you will see results.

Hoping for feedback.

God Bless and protect you and yours in Jesus Name Amen.

Mrs Alexander's Parenting Tips
by: Katherine Morey

Thank you, Mrs Alexander for sharing your parenting experience. I just want to add on to what you have shared.

In Hebrews Chapter 12, good to read the whole chapter as it is all about why God disciplines us. Love drives Him to, its for our good and so that we may share in His holiness. It produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Disciplining our children is an act of Love.

God's Word is Spirit and Life. Speak His Word over our loved ones. Daily pronounce the Priestly Blessing in Numbers 6:24-26. Insert the names of our loved ones, e.g. " The Lord Bless Mrs Alexander and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord turn His face toward you and give Mrs Alexander peace".

It is a powerful blessing and it was given by God himself. This is His instruction given to Aaron and his sons , who were priests on how to bless the Israelites.

We who are redeemed by the blood of Christ, are preists unto God and can use the same Blessing for our children.
